Artistic Vision:

Have you ever struggled to wake up in the morning? Is setting your alarm a dreaded task? Have you grown to hate the sound of your alarm? Alarm Buddy solves all these problems!

Alarm Buddy makes setting your alarm a more entertaining experience! It randomly selects one of 5 audios to play when the alarm is going off, and all these audios are very unique. That way, you will never get tired of the same old alarm noise!

The button and potentiometer are positioned on your buddy in such a way that you are greeted by a smiling face when you awake in the morning. Additionally, the webpage features a soothing blue tone, to start and end off your day on the right foot.

Instructions:

Alarm Buddy is created with an ESP32 microcontroller, a potentiometer, a button, and it connects to your laptop or computer. The alarm is set by following the steps below:

1) Click “connect”

2) Select the port that your ESP32 is connected to

3) Click “Set Hour”

4) Turn the potentiometer to set the hour value. Please note that Alarm Buddy follows the 24 hour clock

5) Click “Confirm Hour” to lock in your selection

6) Repeat steps 3-5 for the minute value

7) Click the button on Alarm Buddy to activate your alarm

8) To reset your alarm at anytime, press the button on Alarm Buddy again

Drawbacks:

The Alarm Buddy enclosure is slightly large; in the future, I would recommend creating a smaller enclosure which better holds all the components while maintaining the integrity of the creative design. Additionally, the 5 pin button connections should be securely and carefully attached in order to ensure its intended functionality of lighting up when pressed. See the README in the GitHub repository linked above for more information on the technical connections.
